Now, I don't really mind all that much about slightly lurid shop signs (slightly reminds me of being on holiday) but trundling back down Green Lanes today, I could not help noticing how BIG the estate agents For Sale signs on the shops along Green Lanes were.
The worst offender by far was Paul Simon, closely followed by Golds. If a councillor or delegate to the Green lanes Strategy Group is reading this, please can you ask these businesses to stop ruining the look of the street. For latest discussions on this issue, click here
This is the councils job. They will enforce anything if they have the will. Normally a fine imposed on the offending parties is a good motivator for the council. The monies also help to finance the salaries of the enforcement officers. Believe me, iif they have the will to carry this through they will find a method to carry it out; witness their new parking fee/fine system. Putting pressure on the council to do deal with these signs is the way forward and lets start by getting on the agenda for the GLSG mtg on May 21st.

Harringay online seems central to Green Lanes/theladders. I live off the old tottenham high road. Paul Simon estate agents are scum. I keep reporting ilegal signs to the council [some are 2 years old] but they never seem to want to tackle our end of Haringey. I guess when one of the super sized boardings falls off and injures someone the council will take action....
I'm going to close and redirect this discussion to keep all the latest talk in the latest thread - here
Also join if you look at my comments towards the bottom of page 2 of this discussion you'll see lots of links to the law (yes at the time I wrote the people responsible n Haringey didn't know the law).
In Feb this year they update their website and the link you asked for John is here.
