Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Nick has sold his business, G & N Garages Ltd at 54-58 Wightman Road N4 1RU and is retiring today.  I just met the new owner and, in January, I shall be taking my car in for its annual service and MoT renewal.  I can but hope that the service Ali and his team provides will continue the excellent record established by Nick over the years.

Nick's team were mostly of retiring age and will all be leaving.

Nick tells me that after a short rest, he intends to devote his spare time to golf.

Oh no I had no idea!!! I only had my MOT done there last month and he didn't tell me that he was retiring although he was talking about there being more to life than work!!! I really hope the new team do as good a job!!!

Nick and team have been fantastic over many years, my best wishes for happy days on the golf course.

Perfect timing... Soon there wont be a need for mechanics with electric cars taking over. Will just be mots abd they don't make money.

I didn't know he was retiring either - they're such a great company. I hope Nick and the rest of the team have a great retirement.

This information explains why after years of no issues with MOTs at that garage, suddenly I was hit for a dashboard warning light removal charge of ~£50 a few months ago.

Never once has such a light come on in my vehicle and if it had I could have removed it with my own mini computer for such purpose.

I will presume that what really happened was knowing that it didn't matter if customers were alienated in light of pending retirement, such liberties were taken and unauthorised services were performed.

Gutted to hear that they closed down. I always had brilliant service from G & N. Anyone got any other local recommendations for MOT?
Or any feedback on the new management?
thanks.

I went there recently to get my car serviced and the new team seemed fine

Thank you KP.  I will give the new team a try.

Hello - does anyone have any more recent news on the new team? I always liked G&N so it would be great if the they have kept up the good work.

The business is led by Ali and, in my opinion, he has continued the helpful approach that we all came to expect when Nick was in charge.

Thanks Dick. That’s good to know.

Had my MOT done by Ali in the summer. The good service continues...
