Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Get Paul Simon's horrible signs off the front of Harringay's listed building

Found myself in the Salisbury tonight as it happens and got into conversation with the manager about the very intrusive sign and banner that have appeared across the front of the Salisbury - a listed building.

He is pretty furious about it and has requested that the signs be removed asap. It seems that Paul Simon claim they are applying for planning permission for a sign but do not have it yet, so please put in a complaint about this when you have the time and get these awful adverts for this awful company removed!

Goodonya Birdy!!
Has anyone been for a look around? I'd quite like to see what's up there.
There's a discussion here about upstairs at the Salisbury when it was an unauthorised 'church' .
Excuse me Nora.. but it does sound funny... Did you walk in and say 'Take 'em down' ?

- don't know if you can remember Dick Emery - sounds just like his Mandy ...

..so now back to proper business..
Gofrit Mulready! Like your direct style.
And talking of 'direct style': seems to me there have been scores of Harringay residents getting worked up for ages past about Paul Simon signs on all sorts of buildings, mainly unlisted. Surely we could muster a hundred or so protestors from HOL, LCSP and all the RA's to picket Paul Simon in their den with placards and PS-style signs - to persuade them that, yes, residents are pissed off with their defacement of every street and road in the area. Let's not be so damned poncy about their moving onto listed buildings. They've been breaking the law for years, so why not give them a taste of their own medicine, and make sure all the local press are in attendance? A week's picketing should do the job - and I'm sure all other estate agents would take note.
Maybe Eddie, but perhaps what'd have more effect is a letter from a few hundred Harringay property owners explaining that such is their unhappiness at the situation that, unless it changes, they won't use PS as agent to sell their house.
With thanks to a couple of anonymous well wishers who have taken the time to produce some art work for me

Ace!
Is anyone volunteering to get the signatures together? Hugh's spot on - the most potent way to combat this is to present PS with a couple of hundred (or more) signatories saying that until PS stop vandalising the area, the signatories will never use PS to sell their house or buy a house AND will actively discourage everyone they know in Harringay from doing so. Once PS see the effect on their potential customer base, I'd be surprised if they didn't change.
Maybe we could set this up as a home page online petition like the Bridge one? I'm happy to supply the wording if someone would help put it up online.
And if it's successful, then we could roll it out to the other serial offenders too - Hane, Winkworth and Anthony Pepe spring to mind.
Bushy
Do you mean setting up an online petition using one of the online services? Like the one Eddie & John are using?
Yes - with the nice image and link on the home page.
