Have a look at DIY Kitchens
Located in Yorkshire. Can be ordered online. Excellent service. Great products. Competative pricing.
I drove there and back in one day to view the selections and styles and confirm my preferences. I had many questions afterwards that were always answered efficiently over the telephone. Very pleased with my kitchen and would order form them again.
Hi Celia - our kitchen is TINY and and every inch of potential storage is used.
We weren't keen on identikit prebuilt units etc and went for keeclamp metal supports, with Iroko worksurfaces which we bought from

Once oiled and maintained every 6 months and they look better after each touching up.
Brickwork was stripped back and / or white tiled. Belfast sink from somewhere and lots of open reclaimed wood shelves with victorian feature brackets.
Some building work was involved and the whole thing cost abt £6K including rewiring, old lights and moving pipes / cooker etc.
It works for us !
A mate did the work with my help / hindrance and we took a while doing it, making up some things as we went along.
I won't recommend him as he doesn't want the work , but it was all pretty straightforward.
Good luck !

Has something of the steampunk about it? Original and ingenious certainly, more imaginative than I was in a recent kitchen revamp. <like>
Thanks !
I can remember both steam and punk so spot on !
If you are looking at ripping the old kitchen units out and replacing with new then I definitely recommend looking on the web for your kitchen. I got mine kitchen from diykitchens for about £2000 less than anywhere else and my kitchen fitter said it was better than some high end kitchens that he has fitted in the past!
Also, if you are plastering, let it dry, paint all your walls (a few coats) then fit your kitchen. It's so much easier this way and all you have to do is touch up any scuff marks and your units stay mainly paint free
With the flooring, put it down last then put your plinths over the top of it to get a nice straight edge. It looks super that way!
Good luck
