What could that be? Cat? Fox? They are right on my windowsill outside, ground floor but not very low and today around midnight while taking rubbish out I noticed earth all over 2 of the window boxes - it had been dug out of them. Put it back in, looked out of the window now so 2.5 hours later and exactly the same.
Really puzzled as was sitting in the room all that time with cats right by the window and have not heard anything digging there.
Has this happened to anyone else?
What could it be?

GREY Squirrels are officially classed as pests under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 such is the havoc they cause. They are extremely agressive and protective of their young - they reproduce at alarming rates and have pushed the indigenous, less agressive, Red Squirrel out of its habitats.
It is ok to catch and kill them but you must respect certain conditions, otherwise you can be prosecuted for animal cruelty.
Of course you'll always run into the debate about whether we should be killing any living thing! Your call.
"Send them back! Send them back!! Send them back!!!"
You can shoot them but you have to do it in a humane manner!
You cannot drown them!
Pretty fair recollection about Regents Park, Andy. And anyone wanting red squirrel action in southern England will find it on Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour, and in patches of the Isle of Wight.
