Unfortunately it's not a laughing matter. But ikwym  Justin

My jaw actually dropped!

What can you say?

Well aparantly he speaks Latin fluently so that must have clinched it

It's genius. He's lazy so the foreign office will be left to get on with things. He's not going to be sniping from the back benches or making appearances on HIGNFY.

You may, hopefully, be right John

I would like to be there when "Bojo the Liar" meets the worlds politicians and expects them to take him seriously.
Three months ago he suggested Barack Obama had a grudge against Britain because of his “part-Kenyan” heritage.
Of Hillary Clinton: “She’s got dyed blonde hair and pouty lips, and a steely blue stare, like a sadistic nurse in a mental hospital."
"It is said that the Queen has come to love the Commonwealth, partly because it supplies her with regular cheering crowds of flag-waving piccaninnies.”
That the EU was an attempt to recreate the Roman Empire’s united Europe.“Napoleon, Hitler, various people tried this out, and it ends tragically. The EU is an attempt to do this by different methods,”
Douglas Hurd says that when Johnson was at the FO he was so gravely “undermining the national interest” that the FO set up a special “Boris unit”.
Though I did enjoy his Limerick to Erdogan,
“There was a young fellow from Ankara, Who was a terrific w*nkerer.
“Till he sowed his wild oats, With the help of a goat, But he didn’t even stop to thankera.”

Its "Carry on Britain"!

But he also put Trump well and truly in his place when he retorted to Trump's claim that there are parts of London so radicalised that the Police are afraid to enter by saying  'The only reason I wouldn't visit some parts of New York is the real risk of meeting Donald Trump'

parts of London so radicalised

Unfortunately most parts of London are not radical at all.

I hope Boris finds time to teach the English-speaking world enough Latin to let them understand the roots (radices) of the language they insist on mangling so ignorantly.

I believe that's the point. Theresa May is punishing him making him meet and apologise to all these people before he can do any business with them. A dastardly plan!

I too like his limericks - but perhaps he's better write them in Latin from now on.

Baroness Evans of Bowes Park is now leader of the House of Lords
