Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Attached.

Below is an image of the pedestrian/cyclist footbridge which is now in place, hanging out over the railway line alongside the foootbridge. Following the cyclist assault incident last week, note the cycle barriers.

It's not about time Alison....

So, it's about the cyclists' right to inconvenience and endanger pedestrians? Sounds familiar.

From one cyclist to another, can you explain what it is about then?
PS Seeemd incredibly quiet on Green Lanes between Manor House and Arena at 6.45 pm today - was expecting post-Easter holiday chaos!

I had to drive over to Holloway at 8 this morning, got there & back in 25 minutes, strangely quiet.

Very quiet for me too this morning. Due to traffic evaporation?

Fascinating link. Thanks Grant.

Thanks Hugh. There's a longer read on the same subject from a local(ish) academic here:

I've added another post about this here. Please do add any additional links that I've left out.

An interesting read Grant, thanks for linking.

Arguably a cyclist cycling along takes up less space than a cyclist who is pushing their bike alongside them so in that way making cyclists get off isn't the best idea. Obviously the speed has to be suitable for the situation which can be the issue.

I suspect John's issue is that the cyclists dismount signs are used to cover up issues in lack of facilities. Earlier on someone said that they'd recommended a wider temporary bridge but the solution seems to be let's make the cyclists dismount rather than implementing that.

As others have said, they're also a bit of a fudge as they are advisory signs, not enforceable.

Arguably a cyclist cycling along takes up MORE space because a bike is unstable at low speeds and weaves from side to side.

Just get off - what's the problem ?
