Today (Sunday) was the first of four Wireless festivals/concerts in Finsbury Park. I'm surprised there are no posts about it. Did it affect you? Any feedback (or photos) is being collated by the Friends of Finsbury Park.

There were lots of complaints last year Pav. ( and to be fair, lots of people said they liked hearing the noise ).
Let's wait until after next weekend before passing judgement.
I share Osbawn's feeling (hate it: noise pollution; restricted access to park; don't believe the official line on justification for it) but don't like to think that nothing can be done.
Heard a few booms but was surprised i was less noticable this year.
I heard loud music (not just bass thumps) 1130-1145, well before the stated 1300 start: if it was a sound check it seemed more of a runthrough. Concert proper was intermittent bass only, not obtrusive though audible (on Umfreville).
I personally have never been much affected by the loudness of these concerts.
This is beside the point, because I know that some, possibly many, are much bothered by them: especially those who live on the east side of Seven Sisters Road.
I do object to the denial of the best and largest part of our park, at the height of summer, to the public. Because of yesterday's extra concert – that was quietly slipped in to the schedule – this large area will be off-limits all this week.
Further, I regret the physical damage to the surface of the park. Despite charging and often retaining a (derisory) £10,000 deposit against damage, after past events the council's efforts to restore the surface are either absent, half-hearted or ineffective.
Though the noise is objectionable for many it is transitory. However the park damage lasts for a long while. The council repaired some damage some 11 months after the last Wireless: just in time for the repeat business. Haringey reacts to their customer's needs and not to the general public: especially residents of neighbouring Boroughs.
There are some reports of tree damage and I have seen for myself a gouge in the main carriageway, caused during the build-up. Other incidents include a report of a fire and an assault by one of Live Nation's guards on a member of the public (a resident in Hackney).
The defence of our park is being led by the Friends of Finsury Park.
