Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

is surely a reason to celebrate?

A small boy's excuse (with apologies to William Carlos Williams)

Mum, I've eaten

the peaches

that were

in the fridge

and which

you were probably

saving

for dessert

Sorry Mum

they were delicious

so sweet

and so cold.

:-D

Definitely a reason to celebrate!

Just so long as no boomtown rat tags his daughter after them -

but so much depends

upon

filling

your red wheel

barrow with those ripe

peaches glazed with ice

cream

if you keep hungry

white chickens

or insatiable

kids

Go on OAE - a 17 syllable Haiku - I know you can do it.
Sunset orbs of ripe
Sweetness. Available at
A Green Lanes grocer

I know they're not orbs but spheroid wouldn't scan.

Which shops are selling them Liz?

They are one of our favourites!

These in the picture are from Arista but I'm sure most of the usual grocers have them. I bought my first ones from the little shop on St Ann's Road

We got a big bowlful for a pound from one of the market traders off Wood Green High Road last Saturday about 5pm as they were getting ready to pack up for the day.

Have had two bags in the last week from Yasar Halim. The plums are also very good at the moment.

We have only just over the cherries glut, not sure I can cope with peaches yet.

Anyone who likes playing with poetry like this, read Love that Dog! Is described as a kids book but is just wonderful even for an adult.
Love the poems thank you, we had our first last week, I only buy peaches and nectarines from green lanes shops guaranteed (pretty much) deliciousness no supermarket never ripe or cotton wool ones here.
My company gives us free fruit. This week it was donut peaches! Yay!
