Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Here is a great idea from Islington - a social enterprise that sells, repairs and recycles electrical items. In my experience, it's hard to find anywhere in Haringey that will do the same - most charity shops won't take electrical items. Anyone got any suggestions? At the moment, we've got 3 nice bed side lamps/lights that we no longer need but don't want to bin.

Bushy, Looks like the workshop is near Finsbury Park station; map
Don't know of a similar scheme in this borough yet.

You could try Con at the London Catholic Worker house on Mattison Rd. Phone 075 12137404.
put them on Gumtree
Freecycle
EcoBees
or here on this site and I'm sure someone will be happy to take them off your hands
Stick them just outside your front boundary wall partially covered if necessary to protect them from the elements
Please don't do that, anyone. And Michael I'm astonished you suggest it. As well as being liable to a fine, don't we have enough dumped waste on our streets?

The council offers a range of ways to dispose of bulky waste - some of which is recycled. Please click here for the webpage.

Thoughtless dumping of electrical goods can sometimes have unintended consequences - especially if kids are tempted to smash the stuff left out. For example, residents have told me about pets with injuries from pieces of sharp metal. One blind resident's guide dog needed emergency treatment at the vet.
Agree with Adam, you can advertise their availablility on HOL. Most things advertised on HOL for free seem to go quickly...and I think inside your front boundary wall with a little note is more advisable if you just put them outside. On the pavement risks a fine from Haringey council, best not risk it.
If no-one wants it from HOL or it's not in good enough condition, the recycling council place in Hornsey High Street has a spot for recycling electrical goods:
