Two weekends of noise, disruption, antisocial behaviour & loss of half the park for four weeks when the park should be available for the people who live round and close by. No one to blame but the Haringey Councillors who agreed to this. If you experience problems and keep ringing their complaints line 020 8396 7701 - if people don’t log concerns the council will claim there is no problem.

Alternatively, go along and have a good time!
Tough if you live near Finsbury Park and have to listen to the noise all afternoon and evening for two consecutive weekends.
Perhaps Tris can give us a justification for imposing this noise pollution on local residents.
Definitely agree with you - those who enjoy the music can of course seek it out at a proper concert venue or play it on their own audio but we should not have it imposed on us just because we live here. We should not lose half our park in the summer - many people don’t have gardens and can’t travel far. Laws protect workers from loud noise at work and we are learning more about it’s dangers - I would have expected our Council to do the same for us rather that give permission for it.
agree with you 100%. Feel like a prisoner in my own home. awful.
And people call my generation snowflakes...
The event income is what funds the park for 'local residents'. Revamp of the ball courts and better lighting around the gym track have all been possible because of this.
It's a few weekends out of the year. Lets keep north London thriving with music and culture! South London has a lot more going for it in that department.
I rang too but got the answer machine - not a good start but they may not be fully geared up yet.
What number do I call to complain that the music isn't sufficiently urban? I think I can hear Paul Simon soundchecking this afternoon...
Indeed, thought I was having a horrible flashback "diamonds on the soles......"
Not everyone has the means to go to a festival out of town. For some, it is an intro to their first music festival without having to purchase tents, etc. Finsbury Park must have a very strong lobby group because you don't see this amount of complaining in relation to activities in other parks here in Haringey. I have no vested interest but just think that in a crowded city the parks must serve all residents.
Hi Anka,
Is that correct that visitor permits can not be used during the festival? There are restrictions in my street all next weekend and I have people coming, so I assumed I could just give them permits.
It doesn't say that on my permits - are you Haringey or Islington?
I think Anka you live in the Finsbury Park CPZ which certainly has extra parking restrictions on 'event' days when Arsenal are at home as well as the big Finsbury Park events, so your vouchers have restrictions that don't apply in Green Lanes A where I am.
There's a similar 'no visitors vouchers' rule in the newish Tottenham Matchday CPZ.
