also spotted some interesting graffiti in the Passage

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing

It’s a beauty isn’t it? And it smells wonderful. On a warm day, if you stand below it you can hear the buzzing of the many bees that are visiting it. It was planted by a local resident a few years back and it has thrived in that spot.

Gorgeous and I love the NHS too!

A lovely sight to behold
thanks for your great photo EMC2 it's a real beaut AND also thanks to whoever planted it - this morn i felt a bit grumpy and tired still but this has made my day!

It was myself and a friend down the road (Mark) who planted it- though mostly Mark I have to say (whose sapling it was that was we planted).

I was a bit skeptical when he suggested it, but how wrong was I? Its incredible to see.

Well done - BTW, did you get any plums?

Ha. I did not, I will be around yours a bit earlier this season if that works for you. I might have been a little too late last year...

It was the runt from a batch if 3 inch saplings I got and grew on a few years back. It's not a runt any more.

Just shows what you can do when you take things out of a pot and let the grow...

I received 2 x saplings from the Woodland Trust giveaway, just starting to bud after planting last  November.  Hard to picture them @  4 metres plus when they look like a chipstick now!
