Haringey Council Consider More Cuts
Haringey Council, in north London, has just advised local Labour Party members that it will “have to” cut its budget by a further 10 percent, or £14 million. According to the World Socialist Website, the news came in a letter to Labour Party members came from Council Leader Joseph Ejiofor.
One has to wonder what goes next.

This is NOT Momentum. You have no evidence for that and I have evidence that it isn't. Joe Ejiofor is the old council's deputy leader, he and Charles Adje are still there because of patronage, nothing to do with Momentum.
It will be interesting to see if there's a new council leader after the by-election in West Green. Maybe then you can call it a Momentum council.

Would be interesting for Council do give the Rate Payers a Break down of how the Brough's Budget is being Spent

I think you'll find a lot of it goes on services for older people, not younger. If that's what you were worried about. Oh and roads of course.

What surprises me is they claim Shortage of Funds
Yet Spend fortunes on Slab pavements. Which must cost far more than Tarmacking and seem to take forever and using different contractors
Also Civic Centre Cark seems well stocked. So Not losses in that part of Council

I think paving slabs are cheaper to maintain in the long run. When utilities need access they lift a slab rather than dig. And of course it’s cheaper to relay a single damaged paving slab that dig up and relay tarmac. Also I think you’ll find the cars in the Civic Centre car park belong to employees and not the council. As far as I know the only Haringey provided car is the one the Mayor uses.

The contractor digging up pays for the reinstatement (worked for Fujitsu infrastructure some years ago) rather than the council.

I've heard that the pavement work (which is being carried out by lots of councils) is because they now have a way to bill people for damaging the pavements after building work. I think that this will also cost less than being sued for not maintaining them properly when someone trips.

I am sure there are more claims against cracked and loose slab than Tarmac. Tarmac is cheaper easier and quicker to repair
Biggest Joke was Wood Green High Road. So much in contract it had sub contractors. Flooded after and still does in places
