Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This chappie was playing with his reflection for over 20 minutes and I spotted him (why do I think it's a him?) doing it again the following day!

Maybe it's thinking of converting ...

That's an interesting thought. If the Swan became Muslim and then changed its mind, would the Queen step in to stop it being beheaded for apostasy?

Not sure English queens are the go to people on beheading issues.....

I thought all the Swans in England were the property of the Royal Family.

'There once was an ugly duckling'.

It would have to be a male swan - sisters are upstairs :)

A few years ago a crow regularly attacked its reflection in the skylight at the top of our stairs - really hammering on the glass.  So I would imagine the swan (if male) thinks it’s a rival and is giving it the evil eye (or beak).

Peacocks will dent shiny dark cars, pecking at their reflections.

Like it! But sorry to disappoint - it's actually a female...

I am more concerned when they do this..

Male swans have a kind of lump in the middle of their beak just below their eyes, I understand. The one pecking at those wellies above might possibly be a male for that reason. The one in your photo almost certainly is a female.

Although after checking online, I see that this applies 'only in the mating season' - which was a catchphrase in an old radio programme!
