Takes one to know one I guess.

Certainly does Annette..

Difference is my rubbish ..isn't dangerous nasty stuff..that isn't thought through..

sounds to me like you have one very big inferiority complex..

Funny, I thought the same about you, really. Let's not go for a drink any time soon.
she who must always have the last word.. (end).

ON talking rubbish: Stephen re your comments about Annette's use of English: I forgot to add, "plain wrong"!

Anette's command of English is probably better than the average of people born and bred here and I think you know that. Have you heard of the phrase in English "intellectually dishonest"? Are you man enough to apologise to a woman with whom you might still genuinely disagree?

Maybe the Universal Declaration of Human Riots that you quote needs to be balanced with a Universal Declaration of Human Responsibilities.

Seriously considering suspending this discussion, as it appears to have descended into bickering and personal comments which are adding nothing to the debate. Enough please.

Primary school WORKER. Please correct your headline urgently. This is the way rumours take off.

There are as many non-teaching jobs in a school, as the frontline teaching.

@ Clive, if he is a teaching assistant (other accounts say Worker) "The working day is usually during school hours and often, term time only. Salaries can range from £10,000 to £15,000 depending upon experience and responsibilities, although this is only a guide".

So Annette presuming he's one of those highly paid teachers and therefore too rich to riot, is way off beam. I wish she would correct that damned headline.

The evening Standard reports that he is a learning mentor and earns £1,000 pm - so not a teacher but a young man who works with small groups of children who may need extra support to learn (or perhaps I should say worked, I'm not sure he'll keep his job after this criminal conviction and public shaming).
As an antidote to continued negativity and stirring read Hughs forum on 'Pulling together information on how to help' and Maddys 'Helping burned out families...', which is much more useful. My son from Harringay has been volunteering in South London with a clean up group and was so impressed by the warmth and spirit of so many people turning up to show support for the community.
