Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

School streets for North and South Harringay Schools were agreed at last night's cabinet meeting.

When the scheme is up and running, only people walking, cycling and wheeling, and those with vehicle exemption permits, are eligible to enter the zone while the School Street is in operation.

Hell yes - it’s been a very long time coming.

I may be dim but there seems to be no mention of the streets so decided upon. I have no idea where the named schools are located and can't be arsed to do work which should have been made clear. Please show me what I am missing.

Will they be doing two streets for these (both sides) or just one?

It's both for both.

North Harringay:  Frobisher Rd  &  Falkland Rd, 8.30 - 9.15 & 3.00 - 3.45

South Harringay:  Pemberton Rd & Mattison Rd, 8.15 - 9.15 & 3.00 - 3.45

Liz's link goes to a page, at the bottom it says "For more information on the School Streets programme, click here. " From there I found the consultations, which have the maps that some can't be arsed about. Hey presto.

What happens if you are a resident of those streets?
Presumably one can leave from one’s address during the restricted times?
How about returning home during the operational time?

"School Streets exemptions
Some people are eligible to apply for a free School Streets exemption. This grants them access to the School Street during operating hours so that they won’t receive a fine.

Those eligible for an exemption are:
Residents who live within the School Street (2 per property)"

Also Businesses, Blue Badge holders, Pupils with a mobility disability, Medical practitioners, and the School Bus!

Thanks, Gordon

Thanks for that.

I look forward to all the cars now dropping off their children on my street which is one off of a "school street" road and thereby only 60 yards from the school via the Harringay Passage, which I happen to live on.  I've seen this practice done already and I expect it to augment considerably when the regulation goes in force.

I also look forward to having to drive an extra half mile or so to get to my own street during operational hours given the one way street system on the Ladder.

I checked travel times and going down Duckett rather than Pemberton adds 1 minute to a car journey.  Also the restrictions will be in force for 90 minutes per day, for 190 school days a year (17,100 minutes).  For the other 508,000 anyone is free to drive down the street,
