None of the Conservative candidates for Harringay ward appear to live locally - in fact two of them don't even seem to be in the borough:

I think Harringay maybe one of only two wards in the borough blessed with Duma Polska candidates - może najlepszy człowiek wygra,  as they say!

Our Labour Manifesto is now published. Please click on the blue lin...

This is a manifesto which aims to mitigate some of the worst impact of Tory austerity which has so damage and hurt our communities. Building council houses on our own land; working to bring  adult social care back in house; getting rid of the council tax reduction scheme which has indebted people on benefits; establishing a fairness commission to hear form people and to support further policy development and aiming to have free school meals for all primary school children are all our policy pledges. Together, with other policies outlined in the manifesto they provide a framework to tackle some of the gross inequalities in our borough.

Cllr, Harringay Ward

Labour Candidate for Harringay Ward, Local Elections, May 3, 2018

Just received my copy.

New Council houses - good.

Extend Council Tax relief - also good

Pay Council contracted homecare staff travelling time and London Living Wage - who could argue with that ?

Free school meals for every primary school child - excellent.

But it doesn't say how you're going to pay for it. The Labopard doesn't change its spots.

@ Zena

I'd still like to know how you're going to pay for these admirable proposals.

Duh, they'll raise council tax. The might also outright sell some commercial property and not spend millions on a new council building.

What's a Labopard? Is it another of these strange cross breeds that doesn't shed hair, or in this case spots?

Building a client state wow sounds great.  Great incentive for your 1 in 4 jobless to actually contribute back to society. Exactly what are you spending the already ridiculous amounts on "adult social care". And what  does a young professional wanting to raise a family get from his or her council tax?

Ah yes, how do we square that circle? We have to provide housing and care for the most vulnerable and needy yet we're ignoring the "young professionals wanting to raise a family". I think you could start by getting involved in the StArt project.

Thanks for pointing that out Joe re the Polish Party ... interesting!

I think you would need a rather sharper tool to split that vote in this borough?
