Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I switched on the telly just now and was rather surprised that the first thing I saw was Barclays Bank on Green Lanes! There was a scene showing Green Lanes, and other local areas,  in a drama called One Night which is on BBC 1 just now. Can't tell you any more than that about it!

I'm recording that, will look out for it. Is it any good?

My favourite Harringay sighting in a film is in London River, a film from a few years back with Brenda Blethryn (sp?). Contains the immortal line 'Ou est l'hotel Shelton', spoken on the Harringay railway bridge. O how we laughed ..

Yeah, seems ok, but not really watching it properly, just keeping half an eye out for local places. l'hotel Shelton.... ha ha ha.....

Yes and in that film they kept popping over the bridge from Wightman Road and arriving at Blackstock Road- the wonders of film geography...

Fantastic!

I watched them filming the scene in Allison Road while I was on maternity leave with my daughter

Some foreigner's going to produce 'A View from the Bridge' one of these days - probably marginally more watchable than a view of the bridge.

There was a lot of filming down Harringay Road last week as well maybe that has something to do with it

I have been watching that and I failed to recognise my own street corner! oh dear..

I'm impressed you recognised it Gillian. It's prrety fleeting. I missed it, but for the benefit of all, le voici:

Very fleeting! I just had the feeling i'd seen something familiar and rewound....
