It’s a beauty isn’t it? And it smells wonderful. On a warm day, if you stand below it you can hear the buzzing of the many bees that are visiting it. It was planted by a local resident a few years back and it has thrived in that spot.
It was myself and a friend down the road (Mark) who planted it- though mostly Mark I have to say (whose sapling it was that was we planted).
I was a bit skeptical when he suggested it, but how wrong was I? Its incredible to see.
Ha. I did not, I will be around yours a bit earlier this season if that works for you. I might have been a little too late last year...
It was the runt from a batch if 3 inch saplings I got and grew on a few years back. It's not a runt any more.
Just shows what you can do when you take things out of a pot and let the grow...
I received 2 x saplings from the Woodland Trust giveaway, just starting to bud after planting last November. Hard to picture them @ 4 metres plus when they look like a chipstick now!
