It'll be moped central!!!!! Enjoy!

How did we ever manage before we could expect hot 'food' at our door in 15 minutes?

Could this be a side-effect of tiny flats/ HMOs, or is it because no-one can thaw out a microwave readymeal any more?

Ha ha ha.

It is more confirmation that people are cooking less and less to feed themselves on a daily basis but not only because of the size of homes. We live more and more in a convenience & instant gratification society.

This has implications on the amount of rubbish we as humans produce and left over food wasted. But also, it will allow fewer and fewer independent food businesses to survive. Everything will become standardised....Deliveroo will deliver your Busaba food almost immediately and you don't have to be in the West End for this. Short, previously unnecessary vehicle movements explode....

Just how does this tie in with the need to consume less resources on our Big Blue Planet. I am very happy I was born in the last years of the baby boom!

Also, I see that it seems to be a commercial site, but I pity anyone who has to live near the area of 'movements' they describe.

This really interesting Guardian article has some very helpful background to what's going on and why Deliveroo would put 10 kitchens on an industrial estate.

Good spot - thank you.

Whilst it could be the case of 'Joe' getting ahead of himself in his eagerness to market, a business listing on Google Maps suggests that a unit is already in operation at this site.

Looks like it's open, trading and operating as a Deliveroo Edition kitchen already...  along with Crust Bros, Busaba and MotherCluckers...

Its definitely up and running. I wondered what it was when I was on my way to Total Boxer on sat

With that massively open right hand turn onto Wightman Rd that's a fabulous position to deliver food from. It will be a magnet for moped thieving gangs too who will then head straight to Regent Street.

Ban mopeds, make them use electric bicycles.

Would an electric bike get you up Musewell Hill (serious question)?

Even a normal bike gets you up Muswell Hill (I know from experience). I think you're asking if you could do it without pedalling. The answer is yes, a friend in Stockholm does 50 mph on his as it's been "chipped". The speed limit for an electric bicycle is the same as for a moped though and 20 mph is VERY achievable, even 30.
