Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Gabriel Prempeh, 35, of Ranlegh Road, Wood Green, was spotted on Homes for Haringey CCTV in December 2015 driving a truck into Kessock Close, Tottenham and dumping a lorry load of rubbish.

In February 2016 the truck was spotted parked illegally on the pavement by CCTV officers, and he was recognised as the person responsible for the flytip.

Haringey Council have said that Mr Prempeh appeared in court on Wednesday May 18 2016, was fined £320 and ordered to pay £585 costs.

£320 fine he must be devastated and suicidal

probably not much more than what he would have paid taking it to the tip.....if the fine was £5,000 that would make people think twice...

The placards in Harringay Passage threaten a max. £50,000 fine. Some hope.

The trouble is that it's so obviously just a threat. When someone has nothing much to lose and it would be wrong to jail them, they don't care.

Bastard. Do these people not have a licence that can be taken away ?

What do you mean 'bastard' He was most considerate. He took the time to push the rubbish off the street with his van, didn't he? (Odd that, I thought).

Doubt he was being considerate, I suspect he was "rocking" the body to make sure it had all slid off. Sadly all too common...

I think he only did that to let the other car past. What a bastard, can't believe there isn't more of a fine for that.

That is only one of many words for him. Show his face, take his van off him and his phone (which may hurt more), fine the git what it actually cost to clean up and enforce against him (including the time of all the agencies involved, police, courts and the council officers!) and then stick the sod in the stock on the high street and allow the kids to throw rotten fruit at him and take selfies!

Justin, you are such a woolly, bleeding heart liberal. Where's James Walsh when you need him?

I doubt he has a licence, that's the reason he's fly tipping. Anyway, when you get that knock on the door from someone saying they'll take your rubbish away from the front garden for a small cash in had payment, this is exactly where it ends up.

The fines are decided by the courts, not the council. If only they would take stuff like this as seriously as the impact on people's lives.

And the court case likely includes no 'restorative justice' payment to Haringey for the costs they incurred removing the fly-tipped material. Can anyone restore my faith in natural justice, please?

I was wrong. This guy runs a real waste disposal company. Your eyes will pop out at the name registered at Companies House
