Yes to Anna Minton, I know of 2 books, one published just before Grenfell which includes Haringey stories and stars people we might know!
Lynsey Hanley x 2, Estates and Respectable (think Mel & Kim) - the author grew up in Birmingham and started her adult life in London, but escaped back up north, I think (of course I'm envious),
Selina Todd has written an excellent book about social mobility
Call the Midwife trilogy for women and babies, adult social care and back to the midwives. Then the TV adaptation and continuation. With Miriam Margoyles as an added bonus!
Lots of memoirs of the challenges faced by those just trying to hold it together through the ages
