No, they take over tomorrow but the site will not be open to the public for the foreseeable future :(

I'm probably very much incorrect but... I've heard a rumour they might be moving into the old garden centre in Finsbury Park.

Yes, a much reduced park's service will move to Finsbury Park. But the space that is Wolves Lane with it's open land, palm house etc, it's retail outlet, it's education programmes for children and adults and it's volunteering opportunites for adults with learning difficulties have all ended.

Organiclea is a wonderful organisation. They do loads of volunteering, open days, courses, training etc. I'm sorry it's the end of a era for Wolves lane but I can't imagine for one second that organiclea's taking over the site marks an end of community engagement or involvement there. Quite the opposite. I think the community is about to gain something really positive.

 Organic Lea already run very successful ex-Council nurseries as community garden/coop horticulture sites in Stamford Hill and Chingford... plus organic box sales, training for apprentices, classes and open days for the general public and quite a few other worthwhile things. As an ex-volunteer for the maintenance of the wonderful tropical greenhouse at Wolves Lane, I'm watching this space with hope...but some anxiety about what will happen to the plants and facilities in the inter-regnum.

I can understand the anxiety Anne but the alternative, complete closure and probable selling off as an asset, would have been terrible.

The coalition which is taking on the site includes:

London Grown, who will be able to complement their field-scale growing at Pasteur Gardens with glasshouse use at Wolves Lane
Crop Drop, Haringey-based veg box scheme, who can use the site to expand their distribution and provide an outlet for produce grown on site
OrganicLea, who can offer support from experience of running a community enterprise in food growing and training at Hawkwood Nursery
Shared Assets, a ‘think and do tank’ which is researching and promoting good models of public land management
Dee Woods, BBC Cook of the Year in 2016, who runs healthy eating programmes and is a volunteer chef at the Granville Community Kitchen
