Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

If you get the munchies in the small hours, don't bother schlepping over to Sainburys - from now on, they'll be closed 0000 - 0600 weekday nights.

McDonalds it is, then.....

You can have a snooze for about half an hour in McDonald's if you need somewhere warm. It's like a RyanAir flight to Cork.

Didn't know it was open 24 hrs so it's not something I'll fret about.

2am was the best time to go to Sainsbury's in the run up to Christmas

I don't think the poor staff will be happy to lose hours or their jobs....

They'll probably still have to work late restocking shelves, which is what they spent a lot of the night doing already. I don't think Sainsbury's is doing very well these days - seems a lot emptier and more discounted, unsold stock.

I was there on Thursday morning and it was very, very quiet. I think they have become a victim of the success of their online offer (though I still can't get a delivery slot within 4 days of placing an order)

There are a couple of 24hour general stores and off licenses open on Green Lanes within a couple of hundred yards of Sainsburys. You may not be able to loiter in them if you want to keep warm but if you want fruit, general groceries and alcohol, they are fine.

I think Im like lots of peeps who have found the benefits of shopping at lidle and aldi,as in half the price, and only go to sainsburys or tescos for stuff they dont do

Yes there are 'really local' alternatives (which I use) and no, this wasn't about The Fall of the Roman Empire - just a heads-up to avoid a frustrating trip which by its timing would have been a distress purchase.
