Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

First time I've seen this image.

It shows Wood Green High Road southbound looking towards Turnpike Lane Station.

In the foreground is the Civic Centre, earmarked for demolition.

Wood Green High Road is flanked by 2 tall towers. One on the site of Haringey HQ, the other where the cinema currently is.

Lots of mid rise and a few high Rise buildings popping up

Looks like the Caribbean cultural centre is toast then
''You live in London! You DONT have a right to privacy!'' As a harringay councilor said to me during a planning meeting many moons ago.
I'd better qualify that before I have the grapes of wrath dangled over my head.
I was objecting to a planning application.

I think the West Indian Cultural Centre is the site for a new school. The council have decided it's good to build schools next to major road junctions.

I wonder if it'll look as good as central Croydon in the 80s?? Or do you think they'll be aiming for more of a Westfield feel?

Canyons?

The lovely Civic Centre "is toast" too!

Wwe live amongst phiiistines.

Time to get out!
