Oh dear. More chicken bones to look forward to. :(
Thanks Liz, will do that now. That place is a pain in the backside, the litterbigs they call customers should be ashamed. Combined with the Lion King's late night lot, the bottom of my road will be a nightmare.
Please note this was added to the planning & licensing update yesterday, but there's also another application made iro Julianas.
Zams actually is one of the few chick places I like the food from.
If there is a litter problem, the Council are empowered to give on the spot fines of £80.00.
Rather than opposing the license of a useful food outlet other than mac donalds for low paid residents of the area who work antisocial hours, particularly those who can only eat halal I suggest getting onto the council to enforce the existing litter powers they have.
I think how close you live to Zam's may influence your viewpoint of the establisment. The mess and waste that their customers leave is revolting. And I wonder if they would agree to cleaning all the way up the road and the Harringay Passage :)

But to be serious, you are right, Tom, though, that they would be prime candidates for a responsible retailer agreement. Here's a thought, wouldn't it be good if the granting of this licence were dependent on signing some kind of agreement that meant they were responsible for clearing litter and providing more opportunities for their cutomers to dispose of waste responsibly, maybe even looking at the type of packaging they use for their junk food. Probably not possible or legal or whatever but a thought all the same...
Yep I like that thinking. How about reposting that thought as a different thread, tagging it "local ideas"?
and in the meantime I have objected to the late license here - on grounds of littering and also the horrid people in cars scoffing chicken with music blaring. It's quite intimidating for a poor Seymour Road resident coming home late at night. That, teamed with the delightful people who hang out outside the Lion King, and we're on to a real winner. One side throws chicken and paper, the other side deposits bottles, vomit and urine. Something has to be done and soon!
I have lived in this part of the world some 44 years, my whole life in fact. As a child we had a pie n mash shop with buckets outside with live eels, where zams was there used to be a traditional green grocers. Where sainsburies is there used to be a dog track and stock car racing where men in the old flat hats used to descend upon twice a week to have a flutter on the dogs.

The area has changed a lot since those days, We then had a period of predominantly greeks owning all the shops, they got rich and moved to palmers green and then we had cypriots and then turks and then albanians and now we have got a cosmopolitan mix of everything.

Yes lets work to getting rid of the betting shops, the litter the untold jewellers that i never see anybody in, but lets support the multitude of small businesses trying to make a living and that make Green Lanes what it is today, a thriving, cosmopolitan community of people from all around the world who make it the best place in London, a place where I have never seen a lager lout, a fight or any trouble.

We should support zams and yes sort out the litter problem, but not by trying to close it down. at the end of the day, I am sure they are not happy about people dumping rubbish outside their shop either, lets support them.
