What the hell is this?
Is this the phone box Darth Vader designed? Another terrible eyesore on Green Lanes. It seems to take up half the pavement, and, judging by appearances today, is already being used as a pissoir.

I had a bit of closer look at this yesterday. The most sensible way to position it would be to turn it 90 degrees so the widest side was facing the road, taking up less pavement space and blocking out the road noise when making a call. But that would mean the side with the advertising wasn't facing on-coming pedestrians. Makes you wonder about its primary purpose.

I thought the same. A side-on slimmer profile would be tolerable. But no cash in it, as you say.
