Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Urgent: Local dog- walker(s) appears to have bitten off more than they can chew - do you recognise these dogs?

Just how many dogs can be safely walked by one person at a time?

Some dog walkers seem to have no upper limit-- I have spotted one with twelve hounds!

Six months ago, I found a little terrier in Downhills Park, Tottenham, shaking and distressed. His dog-walker had so many dogs, she hadn't even noticed he was missing. Foul abuse  from her was all I received for reuniting them.

Only today I was shocked to see two groups of dogs - possibly from the same Canine cohort - tied to the railings at the entrance of Downhills Park (Downhills Park/Keston Road, N17) with not a soul in sight.  The dogs looked thoroughly distressed.  Do the owners of these dogs even know how poorly cared-for their pets are?

As a responsible dog-walker, who is both insured and never walks more than 2 dogs at a time, I can only conclude that many others are are motivated purely by greed, and not by a love of animals, with some owners paying up to £20 per hour.

Please forward to anyone you know in the Tottenham and wider Haringey area who owns a dog(s).

Well done for photographing this Justin. I'd be livid if one of those dogs was mine. My old dog walker used to do three at a push.
You should post this in the Downhills Dogs Facebook group

Thank you - didn't know it existed. Although it's a "public" group, you have to send a join request... Hmmmm

I'm a member and have posted a link to this thread.

Thank you, Lauren.

Why Hmmm? It's to avoid spammy posts.

The number of dogs walked by one person is a concern.

On Hampstead Heath it is supposed to be 6, however the walkers often go by in twos so there are then 12 dogs off the lead in a rowdy pack. Sometimes two groups meet to have a chat, so there are over 24 dogs loose and running all over the place often with minimal control which feels very threatening. I also notice that the walkers seem more concerned with chatting than picking up the mess but I can't shout out to them as the dogs see it as a threat. There needs to be some control of this business.

I counted 14 dogs to one person during the day in downhills park. To be fair they all seemed happy but as they were running of a lead my main concern was whether the dog walker had time to pick up their mess.
Justin I posted this on the Downhills Dogs page but it's not going down well with them and people are suggesting you aren't telling the truth, perhaps you could respond on there?
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like a kebab?
As the Facebook group is a closed group someone has messaged me privately to ask me to ask you to take the screenshot of the Facebook comments off here which is not a closed group and they are not happy about their names and photographs being on here.

It seems to be a public group - you have to join to post but all comments are visible. Members names would be visible even if it were closed.
