How odd. I did some pruning in the green last week and there was also a flush, but only one, of blossoms on my own apple tree. Maybe to do with the very balmy weather until only a rew days ago?!
You can have trees where different varieties are grafted in to a single root stock so they flower and fruit at different times. Having said that, blossom in October is weird whatever the variety.

I grew up in the Irish equivalent of Kent, surrounded by orchards. I've never seen this before. This is a Granny Smith and it's not grafted, and you're right, weird.
