In a detailed response to community concerns a letter to local community leaders says:
There have been some concerns raised over the past few weeks and months in relation to the levels of criminal activity around Ducketts Common. In particular, the issues causing concern are drug dealing and antisocial behaviour, in the area of Turnpike Lane Underground station area, and the area bordering Noel Park, Haringey and West Green Wards.
This has been brought into even sharper focus in the past month as the area has seen an increase in violent offences with a stabbing and 2 shootings in close proximity to this area since the beginning of August.
It is important to note at this point, that the intelligence around this suggests that the recent more violent offences are not linked or directly connected to the longer term offences of antisocial behaviour and drug dealing in this area, in any other way than that they have happened in the same general location.
In response to the concerns raised to the police by members of the public, local residents and community leaders, who have experienced intimidation and witnessed drugs being smoked openly, and drug dealers and street drinkers engaging in criminal activity, the local Safer Neighbourhoods Team have for been working on a problem solving initiative to address these issues.
Badged as Operation Hayle, under the leadership of Insp Kevin Blenkinsopp, the Safer Neighbourhoods team have put together a multiagency proactive operation to tackle these concerns.
The full response can be read in the attached pdf.

Local "community leaders"? Who, exactly, are they?
Residents and stakeholders would, I think, be better...
Thanks for that invaluable contribution, Justin.
Touché!
Oh Justin
That meaningless word " Stakeholder "
I use Turnpike Lane tube station - am I a stakeholder ?
I buy coffee at the Ducketts kiosk - am I a stakeholder ?
I often park on Willoughby Rd - does that make me a stakeholder ?
I think we should be told
Remember this wonderful quote by the late Tony Benn? “What power have you got? Where did you get it from? In whose interests do you exercise it? To whom are you accountable? And how can we get rid of you?”
