Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've a few free days over the next couple of weeks, some of which I'll probably be alone. Can anyone recommend nice places in London to visit...somewhere with High Rds that you reach by tube?

Thank you.

Do you mean for shopping or something else?

do you mean for shopping or something else?

I won't be shopping but, yes, that sort of place. I saw Brixton today for the first time...nice change to Wood green.

Camden Town, worlds end Chelsea, High Street Kensington, Ladbroke Grove
If you google top 10 high streets in London all these and more will prob come up. Bet time out have done something on this

What sort of interests do you have?

Covent Garden

Portobello Market

Spitalfields Vintage market

Portobello is best at the weekend as much of the main market is Saturday/Sunday only. Colombia Road flower market on a Sunday is also worth a look.
W5 bus to the Cromwell Avenue stop. Walk through Waterlow Park and then up to Highgate Village for a bit of a mooch around. You can then either walk or get the 210 bus to Kenwood House. Have a look inside (free) at the wonderful old master paintings. Walk through Kenwood and over the Heath to Hampstead village. Further mooch round the shops. Walk down via Willow Road to South End Green (Goldfinger's modernist house and a little detour by Keat's House on the way). Maybe a cup of something at Polly's on (the last old school cafe in the area), a look in Daunt Books. Short walk to look at the ponds and then the overground from Hampstead Heath station to Harringay Green Lanes. Will only cost the bus fare and train fare if you resist the lure of the shops.

Great itinerary - I'm going to copy that to a south London friend for our next meet up!

I'm a volunteer at Kenwood so come and say hello if you see me.

Thanks Michael, and a travel footnote - from Sat 25 Sep the return journey will have to be from Hampstead Heath to Highbury & Islington, then change onto Great Northern to Harringay.
