Ha. That’s the blunt way of putting it I suppose!
Homeopathy has been debunked thoroughly and conclusively by every scientific study of note. There is simply no evidence that it works at all and it has never beaten a placebo in any rigorous study.
Now in some cases it doesn’t do any harm. If an adult wants to take arnica to help their bruise go away quicker (it won’t help, sorry) then so what.
A child’s health is somewhat different, and persistent coughs *always* require investigation (even though most are, of course, nothing serious)
So this is the slightly longer version of saying take them to a doctor.
While it's true homeopathy is not evidence-based I can appreciate you might find criticism of the idea hard to hear at present. I would strongly suggest psychodynamic therapy as it's now increasingly recognised that many health conditions are psychologically informed. What's key is to gain insight as to the meaning of these symptoms - it sounds as if organic causes have been ruled out. If it's not being understood it could persist. It could be also well worth getting a second opinion but doctors, because of their training, can be insufficiently aware of psychological components of symptoms.
My son used to cough excessively. After lots of different medications the GP said he may have asthma so was referring him to the hospital....she was a stand-in doc and couldn't understand why nothing had been done sooner. While waiting for appointment she said to try the honey in Holland & Barrett. We did and a huge difference. It's a few years later and he still uses is. Expensive but worth it. Definitely worth trying.
If I ask on HOL for directions to a good pub, will the experts all gang up to send me to a funeral director instead? More and more this site is metamorphosing into a 19th century village where all the old biddies think it their duty to persuade me they know what's good for me. Nicole was looking for a good psychopath. If, like me, you don't know any, just shut up.
