Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Spotted by my other half this evening, a new Romanian Food & Drink Shop just south of Hewitt.

Anyone tried it? Come to that, anyone have any idea what Romanian Food & Drink is?

(So there's one for your new Qype habit, Liz - or any other new (or old) Harringay Qyper.)

My 'Qype habit' sounds like some kind of sci fi drug addiction!
I guess some of the hard core Qypers might make it there first but I'll certainly give it a go.
I spent the summer of 1994 teaching English in Romania and remember the plum spirit (very potent), a corn meal type dish called mamaliga and a pureed aubergine dish (there was also a very cheap and nasty vodka called Scandic Pop which came in tetrapak cartons - the small ones came with a straw, just like a carton of orange juice!).
i love the bread in this romanian shop - they are very friendly
Popped in here today. Lovely friendly guy behind the counter who persuaded me to buy some little cakes for my sweet tooth and some bottles of the no.1 Romanian beer.

Please give it a go and send them some custom as I had the impression that the current economic climate was not quite what he expected when he opened up. He's hoping for the barbecue season as he has lots of different meats. I shall be sending Mr E around as soon as the weather improves.
Is this the one with those women at the front of the windows kneeding dough for all to see?
No it's a little supermarket between Seymour and Hewitt.
sorry Marc, what?? where? I am intrigued!
I think I know where he means. It was up the bridge end of Green Lanes near the OAE but I'm not sure its there any more.
