I'm liking this! Shows how widgets can make for a compelling experience.

But I think they missed a trick by combining really live stuff (from feeds & searches) with fake live stuff (animations of static statistics).

I'm really in to good stats visualisation (Gapminder rocks the house). But one of the really interesting things about the net is the immediacy of stuff pouring in to it; a top-pick of that would have made for a purer proposition.
