Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm devoted to honey   for me, the very best is chestnut honey from Italy or Southern Turkey, near Lake Koycegiz    I know I can get the former in Borough Market but does anybody know somewhere local for either or both, please?

Speak to the Harringay Local Store.
Haringey local store definitely have various types of raw honey. I bought some fir honey recently from them. Dunno whether they have chestnut though.

i know there is a person in Hackney who sells a really good homemade rosemary honey for £20. its expensive but tastes great!

Some people have too much money !

when I lived in Islington 20 years ago, there was a local beekeeper whose good tasty honey didn't cost anything  like that    the chestnut honey I'm looking for costs very little more that the usual shop stuff    thanks for the tip about the Harringay Local Store

"Some people have too much money!" - yes and bless them for not being selfish with it.

what is 'too much'?    I could use much more than I currently have to live on   like you, I've enjoyed meeting people who've spread their wealth around   at one time, I had plenty then I had none     I've often wondered what other people consider 'enough'?

Ref: Wilkins Micawber?

PS re the honey, don't know about chestnut at the Harringay Local Store, but if you're after another dark, strong-tasting honey they have buckwheat honey.

Did you know that Tottenham Marshes Honey is produced by Tim Change on an allotment in near Tottenham Marshes N17. Last year there was an autumn batch as well as the usual sumer batch. He still had some at the last Tottenham Green market held before Christmas - email timothycharge@yahoo.co.uk and collect from home at Foyle Road, N17.

He had ivy flower honey that was rich and tasty . I don't know if he still has any more since this is info I had from December.

I really am interested, thank you, but if you tasted (perhaps you have!)  chestnut honey you would understand why I persist in my search          best wishes SM

How do the honey makers ensure that all the bees stick to one source of vegetation?  Hive-mind training?  Service Level Agreement with the Queen Bee?  Workers co-op?
