OK, am I the only muppet in Harringay that has been with Virgin for years and have just been slapped with a notice of a £4 rise in the NY? I am used to a quid here, and a quid there annually, but with RPI at 1.5% this represents something like a 10% rise on my base package costs.
I do start to wonder if I should start being a 'media tart' and start shopping around a bit more. I do for everything else… So, what is stopping me? The hassle of knowing it will not be seamless in the way the relevant authorities have forced banks to make current account and energy transfers? The fact I have programmes recorded and unwatched for 6 months that I really do not want to lose when the box goes back? Hmmm...
What do you all think? I am keen to know if they target who the price rise hits, or if it is a blanket rise across their network?

I'm with Virgin, I got miffed with the stream of junk mail from them offering considerably better deals for new customers, so I rang and complained about the junk mail (it stopped for a bit) and told them I wanted a better deal to keep me.
They gave me something like £7 off for a year, and £5 off for 6 months, and a new Tivo box (which I had to pay £25 for, but feel ok about that, and it is worth it).
So, if your contract is up, threaten to leave, worked for us.
