Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

From Haringey Council:

When it snows the council has to focus on gritting pavements in town centres and main roads – so we can’t always grit pavements in side roads.

Would you be interested in becoming a snow volunteer and help to clear snow where you live?

The council will provide advice on how you can do this, we’ll supply snow shovels and grit to help you to help yourself and your neighbours keep your pavements clear.

Come along to:

The Civic Centre,

High Road, London N22,

Committee Room 8,

on Wednesday 29 October 2014 between 6.00pm and 8.00pm to find out more.

Well it's mostly just to help carry home the 20 snow shovels I have been told to ask for :)

John. I cannot make it, but I will happily help you get the shovels after if we can arrange a pick up?

We got 20 shovels. He'll deliver them next week.

OK, let me know when you get them- I will happily take one

Me too.

Hi,

Did anybody manage to make this and willing to give a quick update?

I was very keen to go but unfortunately have been caught up at work so unlikely to actually make it...

Thanks,

Kris

Michael McNicholas from the council will give a quick presentation at the beginning of the next Friends of Harringay Passage meeting. He also gave us 20 shovels.

I usually salt the pavement when it snows as we have several elderly people nearby. Unable to do it last year, someone nicked the salt bunker.

It turns out the bunkers are popular with builders who can use them to store tools on the back of a pick up... So if you see a salt bunker on the back of a vehicle, report it and we can get it back.

Really? Heck, nothing is sacred...
