Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi everyone,

Moet of you know that I've had to look for another venue for the market.
Sunday 20 July will be our last day at South Harringay School.
I've been looking at other options to continue the market elsewhere (Langham pub, North Harringay School, Hawes & Curtis etc) and my only two options are:

- the Kurdish Centre on Portland Gardens,
-closing it from 20 July

Obviously the stallholders and I and our regular customers would love to see the market going, however I'm just wondering whether or not people would still visit (and walk further down Green Lanes) if we were to move to this venue in the Gardens.
It has a different feel to it, but the Kurdish community has been very welcoming, and they'd love to offer me this space to do something back for the community too.

I need to make a decision by the end of this week, so let me know your thoughts.

I'm looking forward to everyone's response.

100% we would still come. That sounds like a great venue. Even closer to our place!

I wouldn't have thought the location would make much difference; it's only five minutes away and closer for some. To be honest we would probably visit a bit less often but that's because the play equipment was a big part of the draw at South Harringay. Would still try and make the effort though especially for the baking. Good luck!

Have you visited Chestnuts Park Gillian? It's a short walk from Portland Gardens and has a fantastic playground. We pass it to get to the current location and often combine a market trip and a park trip with visiting friends and their kids.

Agreed, that playground is so good even I have a go sometimes when I'm meant to be running ;)

Hundreds of times :-) Probably literally - it's our local park, though not in the same direction as Portland Gardens. However, a railway fields open on a Sunday day would combine well with the new venue....

I would still come for sure! :-)

Count us in!

We'd come too.

Glad you've found another venue. We will definitely still be coming.
Strange venue, back of beyond, no passing trade. But I guess things are a bit desperate. Good luck!
Wow - just looked it up. That's a perfect location for us. Even easier to get to just behind Harringay Green Lanes station. Yes, we would definitely still come to buy the best cheese in London and more!

To be completely honest, we probably wouldn't come as often, as the current location is right on our doorstep (and on the way home from church with only a very slight detour!), but we would still come sometimes, and I know some people who live closer to the new venue than the current one who would probably come more often, so it's swings and roundabouts really.
