I'll put this in the correct place seeing as my response to the other thread caused such uproar. 

We had several windows done by Ames and were very pleased with the job they did. Vaneska, if you wanted to come and inspect the finished product you'd be most welcome to pop round to N15 and have a look.

Well, it turned out that Ames were affable but utterly unhelpful.  They are only interested in big jobs.  So I'm back to square one: trying to find a non-cowboy to repair a broken window latch, or the more likely option - to replace a UPVC basement window, ie at ground level.  You'd think it would be a doddle.  Not.

We used www.barnetwindowcompany.co.uk to replace our windows and they were excellent. Give Tommy a call, he's very helpful 0208 449 4747.
