Sally, yesterday in Cromwell Avenue (Highgate), I had a query along these lines.

I am happy to be corrected or added to by someone more experienced, but I believe the answer is, to go along with plenty of ID, to your designated polling station and the polling station officers should be able to help.

You do not need to take a polling card.

You will either know your designated station from premious elections, or it is probably the nearest which should be able to be worked out from this list of polling station:

It's more for parliamentary elections than anything else, though - but there might be a local/European equivalent out there somewhere.

I'm pretty sure (although I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that you're not allowed to take pictures of ballot papers in polling stations, so you'll probably only get a pic of a postal vote ballot paper, which might look slightly different.

Hi Brando, the LondonEuropean Elections website explains that you vote for party not individuals. Important to vote tomorrow in this election as this is done by PR and share of vote determines how many MEPs are sent to Europe.

Haringey Votes is a local council website carrying most of the info needed - also the election officials will usually explain what you have to do if you are unsure.

I suspect this would be illegal.

The ballot papers should not be available until the polling stations open and it may be illegal to take one away from the polling station.

The election literature from the parties usually show examples of how to fill in the ballot paper.

When I first saw your request I jumped to the conclusion that you were going to print off hundreds of copies with crosses against the appropriate party and stuff them in the ballot boxes.

Would be all right in St Ann's ward I suppose

There is no effective opposition to Labour in St Ann's, they don't need to rig ballot boxes.
