Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

SEEN 1.5 million times in 24 hours, this extraordinary video captures a cat (Tara) rocketing onto the scene to rescue her family's toddler from a vicious dog attack, yesterday in California.

Laura, the youtube views approach 20 million and the family have begun a Facebook page here:

https://www.facebook.com/tara.hero.cat

Political aspect:

I see the canny Mayor of Bakersfield sent a gift of 2 x 24 cans of Fancy Feast cat food for Tara!

Awwww, she's beautiful!

And the heart of a lioness. Standard moggy ... non-standard conduct.

Cats are great!

Yep, I think so too!

Tara barrels into that attacking dog like a missile, using momentum and some kind of feline-Judo-kick to break the grip of the dog's jaw and then – tail-up – chases him off.

Finally, I like the way Tara, while escorting her charge back to the front door, flicks her head to check that the little guy is okay (last frames).

Now viewed 6.5 million times and rated Adult due to the graphic depiction of the injuries inflicted by the dog on the boy's leg.

I'd like to see some close-up Mog Mug-shots of heroine Tara.

You'll see a mog-shot or two on this video clip:

God, I love that cat!

She looks A LOT like my cat!

"Is there a problem filling this bowl?

According to my timetable, you're 15 minutes late.

I'd be grateful if you'd note that us home guardians don't march on empty stomachs".

Meow.

See you've met my cat Clive

You're a cat man Michael? Why didn't you say earlier? There must be good in you after all! I haven't met your cat, but I know the type. All cats are black in the dark – and they're all hungry too.

Tara's triumph has now been viewed nearly 17 million times.

A cat man - I can think of no higher complement Clive! Mine is 17 and bossy. When he's awake he thinks he's kitten and when he's asleep, a rug.

Michael this could appear a little obsessive, but if you're interested, here is a discussion about Tara's primal motivation in those moments (!?)
