Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The latest turkish place has died a death. Has been shut since Monday.

It was often empty and rarely more than 10 people in at the busy times during the weekend.

I wonder what is coming next? Hopefully turkish restaurant owners will get the message that the kebab market is saturated and we need something different!

I ate well when it opened and was busy, then had the extraordinary experience of a non-existant choice and  untrained staff when I took friends to this almost empty restaurant a couple of weeks ago. It was as if nobody had any interest in the place - so disappointing   the Turkish cuisine, if presented properly, is a wonderful offering of vegetables, meat & fish, fruit and puds  in Turkey, the chance to eat fresh  food is widely enjoyed and there are several good restaurants of note here in London-( also see the Saqi publication Turkish  Cookery with contributions from top Turkish and British chefs)     I don't care what replaces Hanci, perhaps there are enough Turkish restaurants on Green Lanes but where is mid-price truly French food available in this area?         Sally M

Rather fond of this one when down Upper Street way

They do a good fixed price at lunchtimes

I noticed yesterday there's a new licensed bar opening up next door to the Garden Ladder, anyone know any more?

I think it's an offshoot of Autograf in West Green Road which has had good reviews.

Yes, that's right. It was posted about recently here and here.
