Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Apologies if this has already been posted - I did a quick search but couldn't see it anywhere.  There's a sign up in Yasar's window saying that they are going to be on Britain's Best Bakery on ITV1 this afternoon at 4pm - I checked on the ITV website and, sure enough, it proclaims that today's episode includes a "Turkish Cypriot Bakery" in London.

It was mentioned before but the details weren't posted previously. So thanks, I just used my Virgin TiVo app to remote schedule a recording.

Thanks wouldn't normally watch this crap but now scheduled to record......

I watched a couple of episodes of this program when I was off sick and it's really dull!! But I will watch it tonight just to see how they do

I'm only watching it because I'm off sick today (I only went out because there was no food in the house, and that's when I spotted the sign)!!

Hehe the joys of daytime tv!!

They didn't win but they have put their shop on the map.  A good performance.

Yes they had a fair shout. Won't need to watch this again!

Well done Dimitri and the team at Yasar. (Nice to see Rob and Birsen with walk-on parts too!)

Yes, well done indeed - I thought the other two were really pretentious places, not my thing at all, but there's no accounting for taste, eh?  And in response to Philip's comment above, I agree - no need to watch that programme again!!

It felt like Yasar was brought in as a token diversity to characterise the vibrant London thing.  The program format was a little cringe-y with full of cliche.  I felt as though the competition was not amongst like for like though.  Anyhow, I am happy they did not destroy my Yasar.  :)

Has anyone had any of their pastries? I am really interested in trying some of there things. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have tried the cream cake slice and I loved it as it reminds me of birthday cakes from my childhood. My husband said it was too much for him though. The mixed baklava are to die for and we also like the sweet persimmet (I think that's what they're called) biscuits. Will certainly try the viennoise biscuits now though!!
