Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I have noticed that the old Victorian conveniences on Bruce Grove have been closed for many years. It seems they are a listed building but various 'regeneration' plans have seen the can kicked down the road repeatedly. I have made a formal request to Haringey for up to date info but would welcome any input. They would be a great community resource but it seems likely that cost and red tape may be scaring everyone away?

Not so long ago this was a single story public loo - so get in there and make an offer on the Bruce Castle ones!

Wow, a toilet with an en suite house!

So was this, as many will remember with crossed legs, by Manor House tube (both the loo and the legs!):

Do you mean this one at High Cross:

If they leave it much longer the roof will fall in, end of discussion.

We could definitely use some 24-hour public toilets round about Seven Sisters station, though the blokes are so out of it I doubt they would bother to lurch a few yards up the road, they just do it where they stand.

No they are on Bruce Grove near the station entrance.

This one, right? Amazing that it still has all its original iron railings.

That's the one Hugh, it's beautiful. Has the original street lamps too.

By the by, what on earth is the point of that Haringey flag on the lamp post? I assume there are companion pieces too. I wonder what;s supposed to achieve and how much it cost in terms of product and labour to purchase and erect?

Then I guess it makes sense of a sort for them to leave it up.

When you consider the state of the listed Georgian Tottenham Trades Hall and blue plaque residence of Luke Howard it really brings a tear to your eye. How they can be left to fall to such disrepair is a travesty.

I've often wondered if they're going to be done up - might make a good little florist shop :-)
I love that building. I've seen make overs of them in the past on telly. It would be a cosy but noisy underground dwelling or artspace, cafe, florists...its a shame that it's just left unloved.
