Woke up this morning and opened front door only to find a trail of soil where someone had ripped out 'choice' plants (mostly geraniums) from my window boxes and pot in my porch.
Suspect it happened around dawn
I'm on the 'ladder' - Umfreville road - hasn't happened for a long time.

Sorry to hear that - seems to go in waves. I've added a tag under your post to link similar discussions - more in the gardening group.
Our neighbour had a potted plant she had had for 15 years taken along with other plants too I believe night before last...
How terribly frustrating for you. Our communal planters had a problem with theft a couple of years back. We even caught the culprits- an old lady with a shopping trolley hauling up wallflowers and a dog-walking chap who came early in the morning to raid the planters. Please don't be put off from growing at the front of your house. I'm very grateful to anyone who makes an effort to cultivate their front gardens and make them a pleasure to see for all of us.
I suspect I know exactly what this was.
The Thursday night in question - the 16th of May - I saw a white van - like a Transit size - trawling Seymour Road on Thursday night at 4am, and only got up to see it because I'd been woken up by the sound of banging and clattering, presumably as they loaded stuff up. The reg plate was LT52 YRC. It was parked outside my house with the doors wide open.
I went downstairs to see what was going on and literally the second I opened my front door, someone leaped in the back and the van bolted up the road. Luckily, I got the reg plate.
I phoned 101 on the night to report it.
Fairly sure it must all be linked.
Seems a hell of a coincidence otherwise.
