Hi,
Has anyone had their garden waste bag taken from their front garden? Over the past year I have had 3 garden waste bags go missing from the front of our house. It's very irritating! Especially as I spent considerable time writing our address all over it in massive black letters with permanent black marker.
Veolia happily (so far) replace it each time, but it can take up to 10 days for a replacement to arrive.

They get taken here in West Green if left in the front gardens, seemingly after a few days. I've often wondered what they're so useful for, do the bin rummagers take them?
We are also in West Green and it seems like there's about a 50/50 chance that it will go missing on the day it is collected. After the first we put our house# and street on, in very large letters, but doesn't seem to have made a difference. It took a very long time to get them replaced, that's for sure.
Actually I think they sometimes get put back in random gardens, or may ocasionally blow out onto the street. I have one from up the road I found in the street outside mine a while back...
They are perfect for growing potatoes. Apparently.
Thanks everyone for your comments. I'll keep an eye out as I walk down our street for our bag, or for someone who appears to be growing potatoes! :)
When they first started to be used, the bag + contents would be chucked wholesale into the R/C lorry and they left another as replacement. Maybe there is confusion re how it works still? Worth checking with the bin people that they know policy has changed. But I still think the spud-growers are to blame - have you seen how much these things are to buy?
My garden bags are constantly going AWOL unless I bring them into my back garden straight away after collection. I ordered another one and according to Veolia it was delivered on April 8th - I never saw it.... I think I have lost about 6 in total.
Our previous one disappeared, so I rang up to order a replacement. They left 4. Last time I used one it disappeared, so maybe they do just chuck them in the wagon. Perhaps it depends how full they are (this one was filled to bursting)? I'm usually at work when they call so I don't see what happens.
