Lost a couple of primroses today...
(expect to lose a few, really just using the opportunity to show what a nice street sign planter we have on Frobisher Rd)

Just noticed some meanie is nicking the nearby daffodils too. I thought there used to be a lot more and looking closely today i see a bunch look like they've been cut off, with a clean cut too so not just kids or some such:

I've had a granny in my garden raiding the mint before now and she didn't even leave when I loudly asked her to stop.
Another granny was found hauling wall flowers out of the planters. Don't know where these grandmas were from but they have the cheek of the devil. Did the lady in question have a shopping trolley? Maybe it's just the one old nanna in different coats...

The daff nickers are a total pain. I swore we wouldn't do daffs again after one of the Warham planters was stripped pretty much overnight of a lovely display but I've relented and we have a few poking out.
People do seem to think daffs are for picking and I try to tell myself that if they take them home and appreciate them, I'll try to be chilled about it but when I find them chucked down 10 yards away I want to beat them around the head for stupidity.
I caught a lad picking one from each planter the other morning and he skedaddled when he saw/heard me. I do hope that he was taking them for teacher...or maybe to surprise his mum. He did seem to be on a mission.

In 2010 in Hartford Connecticut thieves were nicking azalea bushes. In the same year New York City's Upper West Side suffered a crime wave "targeting plants, flowers and saplings", leading to people "chaining down their prize azaleas, rhododendrons and cadia plants"
The following year New York's Community gardens reported pilfered peppers and filched figs; also losing chillies and herbs. "Tomatoes", one community gardener said: "are universally enticing."
Has anyone visited New York's Community Gardens? Or has some personal knowledge of their Green Thumb programme?
