Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

About an hour ago my neighbours started yet another drunken post-pub sing-alongs.

About once a month I get woken up at one thirty or two by the sound of drunken singing coming through my walls. I'm all for live and let live but have two small kids and find this is driving me to the edge.

What are my rights with regard to complaining in this kind of situation?

Keep a log of dates and times to start with and get in contact with the Haringey noise service. If it's rented you could also try getting hold of the landlord and having a word.

Good advice from Michael.  Do you know whether this is a council owned property? If it is then I can take it up for you. If you don't know I can check.  Whether it be a private landlord or the council they have a duty to make sure their tenants are not behaving anti-socially.  Feel free to DM me or email on karen.alexander.haringeylibdems@gmail.com

Hugh, it may be worth your while browsing through the conversations I've linked via the "noise" tag under your post. Some are about train noise, but many are related to neighbour noise.

Give Noise UK a call.

Why not have a word with your neighbours yourself ? most neighbours would probably appreciate this approach rather than calling noise teams etc..well i know i would!

The Noise UK website is a tad survivalist; desert camouflage surveillance cameras for sale?

have you got a smart phone? there is a free decibel app. when keeping your log for the noise officer you can write down how load it is. With sufficient information  think he can serve a notice on them and eventually take them to court, but hopefully he won't go that far. Have you discussed it with other neighbours, is it disturbing them?
