Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Despite my views of both Gove and free schools I was wondering what support there'd be for a free school in Harringay?

Primary school doesn't seem to be such an issue (apart from oversubscription).

What are people's views of secondary schools?

Is there a group of parents that would like to look into this?

If anyone is interested in setting up a free school for their children then please add me as a connection and direct message me...

A C Greyling is apparently trying to set one up in north London... Does anyone know more about this or where it's going to be?

I agree. I have sent mine to local secondaries and I wish I had been less anxious about it all (we did worry about things before they went). A really important point even for very anxious parents is that there is a whole world of genuine choice at '6th form' level. With decent GCSEs (which actually are not too difficult to obtain in local schools) there is a lot of choice in terms of different types of colleges and schools. If your child wants a more academic environment they can move into that at 16 if that is their thing.

A breath of sanity. Thank you Therese.
Bravo. I wish that I'd had a teacher like you, though that would have been 1964 to1976 .

Tonight my son forgot his maths homework. It was after I'd read this which is basically backing up my own thoughts on homework. I was extremely chilled about it and tonight before bed he said to me that he wanted to be at school 20 minutes early so he could do it "with all the other kids". Ha ha ha.
