Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi there,

Our family is looking for a three bedroom (or more) house with a garden in the ladder or Hermitage Road area to buy.

Please contact me if you know of anyone who might be thinking about selling.

We are currently living on the other side of Finsbury Park and are looking to move asap. Many thanks and happy new year to everyone!

What price range are you thinking of?

Hi Louisa, thanks for your reply. Will PM you.

Hope you'll forgive us, we've changed your spelling of our neighbourhood from Haringey to Harringay

Good luck with finding a house.

Arghh I get confused every time! I had also read your very informative blog post about buy still didn't spell it properly... Thanks for the edit!

You're not the only one and I've successfully plead on your behalf for a suspended sentence!

If you are looking as far south as Hermitage Road, would you consider Woodberry Park? I ask because they're building a lot of "homes" up there (OK, max 3 bed flats) and they're using the excuse that nobody local is buying to sell them to Chinese investors, they actually fly out to Hong Kong and Singapore.

Given the increase in density from 2,400 homes to 4,800 that they are proposing, I can see why the "development" up at the top of the ladder is so intense. Anywhere within 10 minutes of a tube station is scheduled to be high density housing. Oh wait, within 10 minutes of Turnpike Lane is all privately owned... oh well.

Thanks John! Yes, we have already inquired about the new flats in Woodberry Park. However, you are looking at £600K for a 3 bedroom flat...

It's not really what we are looking for, although they are actually very nice flats with a swimming pool, gym, 24/7 concierge etc... and an amazing view over the reservoirs and the city. But we would prefer a house as we have a toddler who needs a lot of running around!

I didn't know about the Chinese investors though. It's such a shame that they haven't given priority to local people/workers.
